We at The Stitchers' Academy love fashion as much as we love quilts. Each year brings a NEW LOOK and a NEW "MUST COLOR" to wear but the designs are timeless. We just tweek them a little here, and there to make them our own.
Coco Chanel once said
"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only, fashion is something in the air. It's the wind that blows in the new fashion; you feel it coming, you smell it. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." Coco Chanel
The 1960's were know for their femine styles. Necklines were modest but the evening wear was known for beadwork and sheer overlays. Hems were being worn above the knee and wearing pants was accepted. Pencil skirts with belted sweaters showed off your waistlines. The introduction of pantyhose allowed us to stop wearing girdles. Synthetic fibers lead to a transformation of our undergarments. Lycra was BORN!!! And lets not forget the famous MINI SKIRT and Baby Doll dresses which start to appear in the late 1960's.
